Tarot Tuesday #4 - Cat's Eye Tarot: Temperance

Temperance - Cat's Eye Tarot
artist: Debra M. Gavin

Black and white - water and sunlight - opposites attracting and blending?

What do you see? What do you feel?

Debra Gavin brings her experience as a veterinarian and knowledge and love of animals to this beautiful and very different Tarot deck. It's unpublished, so if you want to see more, you can only see them at the artist's homepage (linked above). The deck is fully illustrated with cats that show more personality than many of the humans featured in other decks. Somehow, each image manages to capture the essence of the card without relying on the usual symbols. If this deck were available, I'd buy it in a heartbeat.

How to Participate:
  1. Visit us on or after Friday to see this week's Tarot Card.
  2. Write a post on your blog inspired by the image or the questions.
  3. Use Mr. Linky to add your link to the Tarot Tuesday link list.
  4. Drop a comment in the comments for the week, and we'll add you to the participant's blog list.
  5. We encourage you to visit other Tarot Tuesdays to see what inspiration others found.

  1. Hmmm... I really like this image a lot. The water, the duality. Balance. Kitties. Temperance. I'll have to go see her other cards. You keep finding some great unpublished decks. It's got me feeling edgy... wanting to design my long put off deck. Hehe. My Thornesworld TT will be up at 11:59 Cali time (I think)

  2. It's really lovely, isn't it? You've got a couple of great Empress cards up at Thorne's World and Eclectic Witch - and of COURSE you're an Empress! Mine is up at Everyday Tarot - focusing on this card there.. you picked out a lot of the same things I did - duality, water, balance -- so Temperance.

  4. I love all my decks, but Cat Eye is my most intuitive, the one I use the most, the one I actually just ordered a duplicate of just because I'm afraid it'll go out of print one day.
